Laurel Foley

Laurel received her training at the Ellen Schipper Classical Ballet Studio in Santa Barbara, Ca. from 1991 to 2000. She received training in classical ballet, modern, classical variations, pointe work, partnering, choreography, production management and costuming. During this time, she had the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker, Coppelia, and in the Santa Barbara Italian Festival.

In 1995 she was accepted into the West Coast Ballet and performed annually in the Nutcracker. Her roles included Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Princess, Spanish, Chinese, and Russian. She also performed the Cancan in the world famous Santa Barbara French Festival, and Paquita and Don Quixote in Santa Barbara�s annual Fiesta: A Celebration of Old Spanish Days.

In 1998 she started substitute teaching at the Ellen Schipper Classical Ballet Studio, where she discovered her love of teaching. In 2000, Laurel auditioned for and was accepted on scholarship to the dance programs of Mercyhurst University, and University of Utah.

She decided to attend Butler University where she majored in Dance Pedagogy. Ballet, Modern Dance, Tap, Jazz, Body Placement, Theater Dance, Spanish Character, Choreography, Laban, Pedagogy, Dance History, and Costuming for Dance were included in her studies.

Laurel"s student teaching was done at Jordan College Academy of Dance in Indianapolis. Since 2003, Laurel has been teaching Ballet, Partnering, Pointe, Tap, Tot Dance, Lyrical and Jazz at Style.
